The best thing about the drama Udaari is that it has highlighted the dark and evil reality of the society i.e., Child abuse and class difference. In short, after watching this serial you will be blown away by the phenomenal acting and awesome characterization. The drama starts with the image of a rural area where people are really poor, but their hearts are so big. They know the value of happiness and manage to live happily with less resources, but with high dignity. At the same time, you can also see how people from upper class are living their life and what their motives are. It would not be wrong to say that the basic purpose of this drama is to give awareness about child abuse to people as well as to spread prosperity and unity among individuals.
A Brief Plot of the Serial
The serial started with Sajda (SumiyaMumtaz) who is a leading cast. She is actually a widow and living with her daughter named Zaibo in the village. In the starting episodes, she was working for a rich household as a cook because of her financial crisis. One of her husband’s friends named Imtiaz (Ahsan Khan) usually visit her and loved Zaibo like her daughter. However, the story takes a twist when Imtiaz proposed Sajda to marry him and assure her that he will take care of her daughter like his own. However, after the wedding; Imtiaz’s love for Zaibo turned into a lust. He raped her in the absence of Sajda that spoiled the childhood of that little girl. When Sajda came to know about all this incident, she attempted to kill Imtiaz and left everything and moved to Lahore.
On the other hand, Sajda’s neighbor and a biological sister Sheedan (Bushra Ansari), and her husband Majid (Rehan Sheikh) are very close to Sajda and Zaibo. Basically, Sheedha’s family uses to earn the money by dancing and singing at weddings and parties. In our society, we call such people Mirasi. Sheedha has a younger daughter named Meera who got a melodious voice naturally. She also has a son named Jaazeh who is quite younger as compared to Meera. The turning point of Meera’s life started when Arsh (Farhan Saeed), a student from Lahore city made a small band with his friends. He signed up for a competition and was looking for a female singer with a beautiful voice. He visited Meera’s village and by chance met her and requested her to sing for his band. All of Arsh friends have the same goal and belong to upper class families.
Climax of the Serial
The life of Sajda and Meera get changed after shifting to Lahore. Meera becomes famous because of her melodious voice and got popularity on large platforms. On the other hand, Sajda started a business on a small scale with the help of KASHAF (A Foundation whose purpose is to help needy and poor ladies). Sajda also changed her and Zebos’ name to start a new life after murdering Imtiaz. In recent episodes, the story is again taking a twist because Imtiaz is still alive and came back into the life of Tahira (who was once Sajda).
